Andy Coulson:                           Hello, I’m Andy Coulson and welcome back to Crisis What Crisis and another Crisis Comforts episode.  Short but perfectly formed advice for getting you through the tough times.

Now as regular listeners will know, at the end of our conversation we ask all our guests for their three Crisis Comforts, their go-tos for inspiration and strength during the challenging times. Over the years we have accumulated some incredibly interesting and more importantly useful tips for anyone who might be feeling the weight of their own problems.

I’ve just had a conversation with professional dancer and Strictly Come Dancing superstar Amy Dowden about the multitude of health setbacks that she’s endured.  Not only in the last few years with her recent cancer diagnosis which I’m delighted to say she’s made a full recovery from, but indeed since childhood.  Having suffered the painful and debilitating condition of Crohn’s disease.  Her determination and resilience I can tell you are nothing short of inspirational and I would urge you to listen to her full episode.

But if you’re short on time, you can listen now to Amy’s three crisis comforts in this quick taster. And remember, you can also listen to all our conversations in full wherever you get your podcasts. You can follow us on Instagram and TikTok, just go to the top of our home page at crisiswhatcrisis.com for links and many thanks for listening.

Andy Coulson:                           Before you go, can I ask you please for your Crisis Comforts? These are three things that you sort of lean on during the difficult times. Can’t be another person, so I’m afraid you can’t talk about Ben, although I know I’m sure he would be your number one Crisis Comfort I’m sure.

What do you focus on in those difficult moments?

Amy Dowden:                           Music, I set myself new ambitions and goals, and Strictly.

Andy Coulson:                           Strictly in all its form, every bit of it?

Amy Dowden:                           Yes, every bit of it.

Andy Coulson:                           The people- we’ll let you have the people. But the people, you love the process, you love watching it even when you’re not involved in it-

Amy Dowden:                           Watching it, yes absolutely. Everything that, you know, Strictly portrays.

Andy Coulson:                           Okay. And on the music is there a particular piece of music that you rely on or that you turn to?

Amy Dowden:                           I relied on I didn’t know my own strength, that was my song I’d go to.

Andy Coulson:                           Wonderful. Amy, thank you so much for joining us, we really appreciate your time.

Amy Dowden:                           No, thank you. Thank you so much.
